Seguenon Presents Ensemble Fatien
After visiting the area several times for drum and dance workshops, Kone decided New Orleans was the place to pursue a long-held idea to create a new kind of ensemble, one that would combine old and new musical influences. To that end, he brought together some of the best New Orleans musicians from the various musical disciplines. Contemporary jazz drummer Jason Marsalis, traditional jazz clarinetist Dr. Michael White, blues singer Margie Perez, zydeco accordionist Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes, bass man Matt Perrine, steel guitarist Marc Stone and saxophonist Rex Gregory have joined forces with Kone to explore the idea of blending various New Orleans music styles together with West African rhythms and percussion.
